We founded TheDive in 2015 with a clear mission: to help shape an economy that serves life. An economy in which economic success, human dignity, and ecological balance are not contradictions, but belong together.

At TheDive, a wide range of personalities work together: from business economists to psychologists, communication scientists, and service designers.

How we work

Our work combines systemic-integral thinking with a hands-on, practical mindset. We bring both process-consulting expertise and subject-matter know-how—depending on what is needed. We create spaces where new things can emerge: co-creative, iterative, and with a clear view of the bigger picture. Our consulting services are not based on blueprints, but on what truly moves organizations forward.

What we stand for

We are committed to a life-serving and regenerative economy.

We take the principles of living systems as our model: interdependence, cycles, continuous renewal, and diversity as a resilience factor. Instead of merely treating symptoms as they appear, we look at the challenges of our surrounding systems in a holistic way.

We start with ourselves.

We see ourselves as both a lab and a prototype of a life-serving organization. We believe that change begins within us, while also being inseparable from the influences of the systems around us. We use our organization as a testing ground for experimentation, learning, and growth. Our approach to change follows the principle of “safe enough to try”: we dare to try new things in small steps. When tensions arise along the way, we adapt.

We work with autonomy and a tension-oriented mindset.

Everyone decides for themselves which work they do, when, and how. As individuals, we take full responsibility for our tensions and proactively seek solutions to problems we perceive. For us, tensions are any impulses for changes. This requires trust and a safe environment. As an organization, we therefore work every day to build structures that create psychological safety and enable self-efficacy.

We thrive in connection.

We believe that organizations can only truly flourish when the people within them do as well. We see TheDive as a space designed to hold a balance between individual freedom and a vibrant community. We celebrate what unites us and honor our differences. Self-care and mutual care are essential to keeping the whole system strong. You could say we are each other’s “growth companions.”

We practice transparency.

All essential information is transparent, unless there are compelling reasons in individual cases not to be. This ensures that the entire organism of TheDive is informed about itself. Information silos or “privileged knowledge” do not fit our understanding of collaboration. We speak with one another, not about one another—and even in difficult situations, we share what is on our minds.

We hold contradictions and believe in a both-and.

We believe in a both-and: profit and purpose, order and emergence, doing and allowing. We embrace ambiguity and the beauty that comes with it. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, we practice lightness again and again, and we trust the process of life.
